Summit Heating Assistance Fund (SHAF)
January 30, 2026
Summit Utilities and United Way of Fort Smith Area Partner on Utility Assistance
Summit Heating Assistance Fund (SHAF)
Summit Utilities (AOG), in partnership with United Way of Fort Smith Area (UWFSA), is providing critical support through the Summit Heating Assistance Fund (SHAF) to individuals and families struggling to keep their homes warm during the coldest months of the year.
The SHAF program helps customers in the AOG service area who are struggling to pay their heating bills. The fund is supported by contributions from Summit Utilities and by customers who generously donate through their monthly bills. These combined efforts allow UWFSA to provide eligible customers with up to $200 in aid to help cover past-due natural gas bills during the heating season, or until program funds are exhausted.
Program funds are administered by the United Way of Fort Smith Area (UWFSA).
Those in need can apply through March 31st or until funds have been exhausted. This assistance is for AOG customers only.
