
Jennifer King
Jennifer King has served the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith for more than twelve years. She has served as the Chief of Staff since 2019 and added the role of Legislative Liaison in 2025. King serves on the Chancellor’s Cabinet, manages the Office of the Chancellor, leads and serves on university-wide committees, works closely with other universities in both the University of Arkansas System and the State, tracks legislation, communicates with legislators and other government officials, and acts as an advisor and confidant for the Chancellor.
King has a strong commitment to developing organizational leadership, as is evident by her own completion of Leadership Fort Smith and her creation of the Lion Leadership program at UAFS. Assisted by a cross-campus committee, she oversaw a successful application period and program launch, with the inaugural Lion Leadership cohort kicking off the year-long program in September of 2022.
King earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in leadership from John Brown University. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education Administration through Arkansas State University.
King resides in Van Buren with an energetic Pitbull/Dalmatian mix named Pete and a sassy Husky named Eddie. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, drinking hot coffee, and spending time with her family and friends.
