Dr. Christopher Smith

Dr. Christopher Smith, a native of southwest Arkansas, is the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education. In his role, Smith helps fulfill ACHE’s commitment to enhancing its recruitment and retention of students, faculty, and staff, particularly from underrepresented groups.

Dr. Smith previously served as Dean of Student Services at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana. Before his selection as Dean of Student Services, Christopher served as Program Coordinator for Special Programs and Special Assistant to the President at Philander Smith University in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Dr. Smith holds an A.A. (Associate of Arts) in General Education from the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana, B.A. in Political Science from the University of Arkansas Little Rock, an M.P.A. from Arkansas State University, and an Ed.D. in Organizational Change and Leadership from the University of Southern California. Dr. Smith is also the CEO of Christopher Smith Strategies, a consulting firm aimed at providing strategies for success in organizational leadership and DEI. In his spare time, Dr. Smith enjoys watching his USC Trojans and the New Orleans Saints football teams, reading, playing golf, and spending time with his family and close friends.
