 Women’s Leadership Circle
The women’s Leadership Circle is designed to recognize
and promote philanthropic giving and involvement for
women leaders. Members of the Circle collaborate in
effecting positive change by serving as role models,
mentors, leaders and philanthropists.
Women’s Leadership Circle members
contribute an annual investment of $1000 or more as an
individual or $1500 or more when combined with their
spouse. Ten percent of giving to WLC is allocated to a
community impact fund. In 2006, WLC voted to have the
funds benefit Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. This
initiative provides age-appropriate books every month to
children from birth to age five.
Every October, WLC hosts
the Power of the Purse event which brings together more
than 400 women from the area. The event includes lunch,
a guest speaker and bidding on designer purses and theme
bags. In 2009, proceeds from the event totaled more than
$7500. All proceeds from the luncheon benefitted
Imagination Library.
