Leadership giving matters
When you join the ranks of United Way
Leadership givers, you benefit by knowing that your
dollars go to work in the community in a targeted,
thoughtful way to improve conditions in our six-county
area. You also receive regular invitations to special
events with notable business and public sector leaders.
People who give become a part of the fabric of change.
They experience enthusiasm in their relationship with
their communities and each other. Giving connects us
with the very basic experience of people helping people.
Tocqueville Society
The Tocqueville Society recognizes the
unique American spirit of volunteering and giving. Named
after 17th century French philosopher Alexis de
Tocqueville who observed Americans helping each other in
times of need, the Tocqueville Society
acknowledges donors who are deeply committed to service
and philanthropy within our community.
Membership in the Tocqueville Society is extended to
those individuals or couples whose combined annual
United Way contribution is $10,000 or more.
Cornerstone Club
Introduced in 2006 by Campaign Chair Sam T. Sicard,
Cornerstone Club recognizes individuals or couples who
give from $2,500 to $9,999.
Pillars Club
Leadership givers were recognized for the first time
in 1995 at the Pillar level of $1,000 for individuals or
couples. With the introduction of the Cornerstone Club,
Pillars Club is now from $1,000 - $2,499.
Women’s Leadership Circle
The Women’s Leadership Circle, now in its fifth year, is
designed to recognize and promote philanthropic giving
and involvement for women leaders. Members of the WLC
collaborate in effecting positive change by serving as
role models, mentors, leaders and philanthropists.
Women’s Leadership Circle members contribute an annual
investment of $1,000 or more to United Way or couples
who contribute an annual investment of $1,500 or more.
Ten percent of giving to WLC is allocated to a community
impact fund. Because early learning is important for
success, WLC uses ten percent to partner with Dolly
Parton’s Imagination Library. This initiative provides
age-appropriate books every month to at-risk children
ages newborn to five. Proceeds from WLC’s Power of the
Purse are used to provide books.
Young Leadership Group
The Young Leadership Group offers unique opportunities
for individuals and couples 45 years of age or younger
who invest $300 or more annually in United Way. YLG
members are rising leaders in business and in the
community, who are interested in both improving the
quality of life in our communities and becoming active
leaders in the six counties served by United Way.
Members have the chance to make professional and social
contacts, interact with business and community leaders,
play a part in shaping the future of our community and
develop leadership.
Loyalty
Donors
United Way’s Loyalty Donor Program is designed to
recognize long-time donors to United Way, regardless of
the amount. They not only show their belief in the
United Way mission but become the backbone upon which
United Way exists. Please indicate on your pledge card
how many years you have been contributing. |
