The River Valley Regional Food Bank is bridging the gap between hunger and waste. The Food Bank obtains donated food and other products and distributes these items to non-profit organizations that help feed the hungry and homeless in the community. Many are United Way agencies that are able to help more people at the same level of spending because of the money saved at the Food Bank.

The River Valley Regional Food Bank:
• Distributes to non-profits including food pantries, soup kitchens, senior and child day care, meals-on-wheels, shelters and treatment facilities.
• Stores dry, refrigerated and frozen food in a 10,000 square foot
warehouse.
• Collects food from food producers, brokers, wholesalers, retailers and individuals through special food drives.
• Participates with Feeding America, which collects and distributes food on a nationwide basis.
• Strives to raise public awareness about hunger and the role of food banking in alleviating hunger.
