Boys Shelter
5904 South Zero Street
Fort Smith, AR 72903

“Providing long-term care for children who, for whatever reason, are not able to live in their own homes.”

The Boys’ Shelter came into being in 1975 through the cooperative efforts of the Sebastian county Judge and Eastside Baptist Church. Today, an independent board of local residents, who assure that the Shelter continues to meet its objectives as a teaching parent family group home, administers the program.

The shelter:
• Provides long-term placement for boys until a more permanent situation is found.
• Is a “help ourselves” project with the responsibility of helping boys who are in need of a “home-like atmosphere.”
• Accepts referrals from the courts and DHS.
• Is licensed to accommodate up to 10 youths.
• Helps develop a successful lifestyle.
